We checked 8 ice rinks near Wokingham, from Ozone in Bracknell to Hampton Court Palace, for 2026 dates, prices and age rules. Updated November 2026.

There are 8 ice rinks within about 40 minutes’ drive of Wokingham in 2026, and this guide puts them in one place with dates, prices and age rules. Ozone in Bracknell is the nearest, Reading Winter Wonderland is the closest Christmas rink, and Windsor on Ice has a fairground alongside. Every entry checked against the rink’s own site on 4 November 2026.

We have not skated at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry gives what the rink’s own website or booking system showed, and the rules that catch families out: who has to skate with children, and whether skate hire is extra. Where a figure was read earlier than 4 November or comes from elsewhere, the entry says so. Christmas rinks can price by day and time, so the checkout figure may differ. Distances and drive times are approximate, from Wokingham town centre.

Open all year

1. Ozone Ice Rink, Bracknell

A training rink on Western Road, about 4 miles and 10 minutes’ drive from Wokingham, and home to the Great Britain 3 on 3 ice hockey team. It is not the old John Nike rink, which closed in 2020.

Public sessions last 60 minutes and must be booked online, and every skater needs a completed waiver. In the Christmas school holidays, colour-changing lights run in every session from 12.45pm, which the rink warns may not suit people with a photosensitive condition.

Birthday parties may share Sunday sessions between 12pm and 4.45pm. Ozone says the lion 4 bus between Reading and Bracknell, which runs via Wokingham, stops outside.

Open all year; sample booking dates show Tuesday 7.15pm, Saturday from 12.05pm and Sunday from 12pm; in the holidays 21, 22, 24, 28 and 31 December from 10.15am; 26 December 11.30am to 4.30pm; 1 January 11.30am to 2pm; no sessions on Christmas Day
Price single entry £14; three sessions £39; groups of two £25, three £37.50, four £50, five £62.50; skate hire £2.50; A-frame skate aids free; term-time coached Skate Mornings £12

2. Slough Ice Arena

An indoor rink on Montem Lane run by Everyone Active, about 19 miles and 25 minutes from Wokingham, with public skating on every day of the week. The timetable read on 1 November listed an Ice Disco on Fridays from 8.45pm at £8.30, and an adult and child session for under-fives on Wednesdays at 10.30am.

Skates and a helmet are hired online when you pay, in sizes from child 8 to adult 14. Under-8s must have an adult with them, and wheelchair users can skate at public sessions.

No Christmas holiday timetable had been published at that read. The panto on ice, Beauty and the Beast, runs from 17 to 20 December.

Open all year; public sessions daily, days and times subject to change
Price adult £6.50 off peak, £13 peak; junior £6.50 off peak, £10.85 peak; skate hire extra (Everyone Active timetable, 1 November)

3. Guildford Spectrum

The indoor rink at the Guildford Spectrum leisure centre on Parkway, about 20 miles and 38 minutes from Wokingham. Sessions last 90 minutes and must be booked online.

The timetable for the week of 21 December shows daytime sessions from 10.30am, with falling-snow Snow Globe Skates in the afternoons and none on Christmas Day. The Spectrum’s ice show page says the last public session before its show is on Tuesday 8 December and the rink fully reopens on Monday 14 December, so don’t plan a skate between those dates, whatever the timetable shows.

The price appears only in the booking system, which we could not read, and wheelchair users can skate at Skate for All sessions with a carer, who goes free.

Open all year; week of 21 December: sessions from 10.30am every day, last daytime session ending 5pm, or 4.30pm at the weekend; closed Christmas Day; no public skating 9 to 13 December
Price shown only at booking; skate hire included for under-5s

A real-ice rink under a 900 square metre clear dome on Hills Meadow, Caversham, about 9 miles and 20 minutes from Wokingham. It sits inside a free-to-enter Christmas fair with rides, a German bar and a grotto, and the organiser says the ice has been enlarged to 560 square metres this year.

The fair runs from Saturday 7 November to Sunday 3 January. The booking calendar, read on 20 October, showed 45-minute sessions on the hour, with the last at 9pm, and six on Christmas Day.

We could not read the skating-only price at checkout, but the What the Redhead Said blog lists it from £14.48 for an adult. The organiser’s FAQ still lists older wristband prices, so go by the home page.

The rink says its quietest sessions are on weekdays before 3pm, and it recommends those for wheelchair users, who need a carer on the ice. It does not say which days count as peak.

The adults-only dates on its events schedule looked rolled forward from last year when another of our titles read them in October, so check before booking one.

How we chose

These are the rinks within about 40 minutes of Wokingham with published 2026 dates or current prices. Dates, prices and rules come from each rink’s own website, price list or booking system, except where an entry says otherwise. Our search found no rink announced for Wokingham, Earley, Woodley, Twyford or Winnersh this Christmas, and we found no sign that the synthetic rink the borough had at Cantley Park in 2021 is returning; tell us if that changes. Lapland UK at Ascot is left out because we could not confirm its skating in 2026, and it would need a Lapland ticket. Run a place that should be here, or spot something that has changed? Email newsdesk@wokinghamonline.co.uk. Taken a good photograph of any of these places? Email it to newsdesk@wokinghamonline.co.uk and we will add it with your name as the credit.
